Biography

Dr. Suzie Sang is a research associate at the Max De Pree Center for Leadership where she provides support for the research and resource arm of the De Pree Center. She has a BSc in International Relations and Management from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, an MDiv degree from Fuller Theological Seminary and a PhD in Educational Studies from Trinity International University.

Suzie has 25 years of higher education, church ministry, and nonprofit organizational experience. She has served in higher education for over 12 years in a variety of academic and administrative leadership roles and also as adjunct faculty both here in the United States and in her native homeland, Jamaica.

In addition to her work at the De Pree Center, she is currently the director of the Women in Leadership Initiative at Fuller Seminary where she leads the planning phase of developing and implementing an initiative to create an environment of inclusion, equity, and empowerment for women at Fuller Seminary through its educational, vocational, co-curricular and professional developmental resources.

Suzie is also the founder of Strategic Consulting Agency, a higher education and research consulting business that aims to help institutions and organizations optimize their programs, processes, and systems towards sustainable change and actionable results. She is a writer and storyteller who cares deeply about the stories of Black women and aims to use her writing to inspire, challenge, encourage and motivate people to think critically and reflectively. She writes about issues of faith, ethnicity, gender, and immigrant identity with an awareness that at the core of her work she is always leveraging her voice, perspective, and privilege towards the common good.
