Biography

Dr. Chris Brooks is a leading investor and influential voice in global venture capital, serving as Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Clarendon Capital Ventures. Founded in 2024, Clarendon Capital Ventures targets high-impact investment opportunities across Africa and within African diaspora communities worldwide.

Beyond his leadership in finance, Dr. Brooks plays key roles in academia and advisory circles. He serves on the Advisory Board of Harvard Business Review, is a Senior Advisor to both The Pula Group and the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit, and lectures at Stanford University, sharing insights at the intersection of identity and economics.  He coined the term  “identity investing” to describe his approach to investing.

An accomplished author, Dr. Brooks published his bestselling book Omówálé in 2024, exploring identity, heritage, and the future of Black human flourishing.

Dr. Brooks resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with his family, where he remains deeply connected to both local and international communities. Through his writing, teaching, and investments, he is helping to reshape narratives around African potential and positioning diaspora capital as a force for global change.
