Jeff DeSurra
Director of Digital Learning
Biography
Jeff DeSurra is the Director of Digital Learning for the Leadership Formation division at Fuller. He currently works with faculty and content creators at the school to oversee the creation of content for the Fuller Leadership Platform. He also does educational research and incorporates that research into the curriculum for the platform. Prior to joining the Leadership Formation division, Jeff worked for five years as an instructional designer in Fuller’s Distributed Learning department, assisting faculty in creating online and hybrid courses. He has also done curriculum design work for the Boys & Girls Club and churches for a variety of audiences from K-12 to adult learners.
Jeff specializes in research around embodied learning at a distance and understanding teaching and learning from a theological, psychological, and cognitive perspective. He has written papers on the cultural impact of learning, the intersection of games and learning, and how people change as a result of learning.
He has also spoken at conferences about implementing video technology effectively in learning environments and about setting up collaborative learning environments for working professionals.
Jeff earned his Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Masters of Science in Education: Learning, Design, & Technology from Purdue University. He earned his B.A. in Theology with a minor in Biblical Studies from Azusa Pacific University.
