Marcus Goodyear

Biography

Marcus Goodyear joined The H. E. Butt Family Foundation in 2005, where he worked with Howard Butt, Jr. on The High Calling, writing radio spots that aired on 2000+ stations across the country and editing The High Calling, a popular faith and work publication that served over 10,000 readers daily before merging with the Theology of Work Project. Today, Marcus serves as the Director of Communications Operations leading agile processes for the organization, writing and editing, directing social media strategy, and developing web systems.

Marcus speaks on a variety of topics related to technology, creativity, and theology in a variety of locations–from Laity Lodge and LaTourneau University to CCO Jubilee and Mount Herman. He is the author of an award-winning poetry collection, Barbies at Communion (T. S. Poetry, 2010), and he invests deeply in his community through local arts and theater and through his church where he is an elder. Marcus is also the founder and president of the Kerrville Robotics Alliance, an educational nonprofit that encourages STEM education in his rural community. In 2017, one of his teams ranked 49 in the world out of 29,000 teams. Currently, the Alliance supports 13 local robotics teams in grades 4 – 12 across public schools, charter schools, and homeschool groups.
