Prayers for Workers: Praise to the King of All the Earth
Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our King, sing praises.
For God is the king of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm.
Psalm 47:6-7 (NRSV)
Prayer:
O God, we praise you!
We praise you because you are our King.
We have chosen to live under your reign,
to acknowledge your sovereignty,
to obey your instruction.
We are your people,
saved by your grace,
called by your voice,
bowed before your majesty.
We belong to you.
We honor you.
We worship you.
You are our King.
Hallelujah!
Yet you are not just our King.
You are the King of the nations.
You are King over all the earth.
You are rightful king over my workplace, my neighborhood, and my city.
You reign over all things, all companies, all schools, all cities, all nations.
We praise you because your kingdom knows no end.
May my work this day be an offering of praise to you, O King.
May everything I think, do, and say honor you.
May the excellence of my work and the integrity of my life glorify you.
All praise be to you, my King, King of all the earth! Amen.
