Scripture Reading: Psalm 68:19 (NRSV)

Blessed be the Lord,
+++who daily bears us up;
+++God is our salvation. Selah

Focus

Psalm 68 celebrates the power and majesty of God, who does awesome things for his people. Yet God’s blessings don’t come only in major, attention-grabbing ways. Rather, God bears us up each day, sustaining us, carrying us, embracing us.

Prayer

All praise be to you, Gracious God, because you are there for us every single day. Not a day goes by without your care. Thank you.

When I’m stressed out at work, you offer your peace. When I am weak, you sustain me. When I’m undone, you hold me together. When I’m anxious, you reassure me. When I’m lost, you find me. When I’m afraid, you hold me. Thank you.

You don’t do this every now and then, once in a while. No, indeed you bear me up every day. Your care for me is so consistent that sometimes I don’t even see it. Forgive me for taking you for granted, Lord. Give me eyes to see you at work in my life. Give me ears to hear your reassuring voice. Help me to sense your presence each day, throughout the day, in all I do.

All blessings be to you, O God of our salvation! Amen.

Ponder Throughout the Day

God is holding you up today, and tomorrow, and every day. God is always there for you.
