Biography

Minister Diane Michiko Ujiiye’s background includes over twenty years of working in the fields of substance abuse, mental health, HIV/AIDS, and gang intervention, in multi-ethnic LA County. She has conducted civil rights and public policy advocacy for Asian Americans and Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders in California, resulting in the successful passage of state legislation. Diane holds a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.

Prior to LA Voice, Diane was the Executive Director of Asian and Pacific Islanders California Action Network (APIsCAN). She also served as vice-chair for AAPI-Christian’s for Social Justice (AAPI-CSJ).
