Lent invites us into a season of honest reflection—forty days to slow down, pay attention, and let God reshape the inner terrain of our lives. This devotional is crafted especially for those who lead and labor in the world: executives, educators, parents, managers, creatives, entrepreneurs, caregivers—anyone whose daily work asks something of their soul.
Throughout the 40 days of Lent, you’ll be guided by Scripture to do what we’re calling the honest work of Lent. By leaning into the Psalms, Lamentations, and the last words of Jesus, you’re invited to get real about what’s happening deep down inside and follow Christ into the places where we fear honesty. We hope you’ll see with us that leadership—formal and informal—flows best, not from perfection or performance but from a life anchored in God.
As you move through each weekday, you’ll be invited to connect Scripture to the particular contours of your work: the responsibilities you carry, the people you serve, the decisions that weigh on you, and the hopes you hold. On Saturdays, we invite you to practice the Prayer of Examen as a way of helping you pay attention to what God is doing in and through you. Lent is not only a journey toward Easter; it is a journey toward deeper integrity, courage, and joy in the callings you inhabit.
