Seasons Change
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, KJV
Yesterday, I deleted my Facebook account.
It was time.
I opened my Facebook account on October 9, 2009. It was fun. I met a lot of wonderful people on the social media site, and many of my friendships today are the result of crossing paths on Facebook. In fact, you and I have connected because of Facebook.
I began writing publicly in 2008, on a little website that people called a “blog.” My blog posts were automatically posted to Facebook and those posts connected me to other writers. Eventually, I was invited to contribute as part of a team of writers exploring the intersection of faith and work. One thing led to another and, quite wonderfully, I was invited to share a few words from time to time here at Life for Leaders.
Your encouragement of me as a writer and thinker has been kind and generous. Thank you so much for our conversations, your gentle words of challenge, and your constancy in showing up each month to engage with the devotions I have written. I am grateful.
As you’ve probably guessed, I want to tell you the time has come for me to move on. I feel a tender prompting in my soul to step away from Life for Leaders as a writer, and spend time as a reader of the words shared by other writers. The decision is mine, alone.
For me, this season is complete. It has been a gift and honor to share this space with you.
